@steve - thanks for that comment at Sawbill, that really pepped me up. I was still feeling great there, no one more surprised by that than me.

@londell - I'm trying to be sensitive to the fact that so many had tough days out there, the weather was indeed rough. I must have been lucky that day. I'm SURE Crosby-Manitou is a different experience after 65 miles and in the dark!

@kel - karma indeed, and a lot of learnings.

@matt - really, are you done with the 100 there? I don't know if I'm up for all of the training for the 100, the 50 seemed very doable for me. But if I did it, I would hope to see you in the race too.

@dale - I think that was it, and that was really cool of you to drive them to the finish. My family really appreciated that, and enjoyed meeting you guys. Thanks so much for running a great station all these years, and for your help this year. Thanks for kicking me out! I was having too much fun talking to you and Steve.

@ed - I wore New Balance 790s; lightweight trail shoes that I absolutely love. I also wore Injinji socks, which I love - no blisters or foot issues.

@helen - yes it was a blast to have the boys there, they had a lot of fun. Too bad I missed you at the finish. Congrats on your run that is just awesome!

Great job Scott!!! Not too many race reports as happy as yours after the hot weekend! I realize now that I saw you finish when I look at the photo but didn't recognize you. That is so neat your kids were so involved. Must make it extra special. Recover well.

Nice race report. It was fun to read the whole thing as we usually just get a snapshot of a person at our aid station. What else did your crew forget besides chairs?

You can't be considered a trail runner if you HAVEN'T eaten an open s-cap. Yeah, gotta have em in baggies.

Nice job. Great report.

Would have liked to see you finish but I really wanted to go home. So I did.

See you at the 100 next year (you running, me not).

Great run Scott! You looked very fresh at Oberg - not an easy run on such a warm and humid day.

I guess volunteering at Sawbill last year gave you some good karma ;)

Sounds like you were one of the few who enjoyed the race fully. Also sounds like the 100 is in store next year... I hope to heal and be there... And since you found the hill out of Crosby less of a pain, I think the next time you do it should be after 65 miles... I think everyone finds new four letter words then... Greta report and great job and super that the family got to share in this... As the father of a 21 years old, I think they will remember this forever!
